HIYOSHI AWARDS has been established to recognize the outstanding contribution and progress in Research and Application in Environmental Conservation and Protection.
Hiyoshi Corporation, Japan offers Awards to Indian researchers.for research and Application in the areas of Environmental Conservation and Protection
1. AWARD CATEGORIES
I. "Hiyoshi Environmental Award"
Annual Prestigious Award for Outstanding contribution in doing fundamental research for Environmental Conservation and Protection.
This award will be given to one person and comprises of a memento, cash prize of Rs.15,000 and a citation.
II. "Hiyoshi Think of Ecology Award"
Annual Prestigious Award for Outstanding contribution to applied study for Environmental Conservation and Protection.
This award will be given to one person and comprises of a memento, cash prize of Rs.15,000 and a citation.
III. "Hiyoshi Young Leaf Award"
Outstanding young researchers will be given three awards annually, out of which one will be reserved for women.
Each award comprises of a memento, cash prize of Rs.5,000 and a citation.
2. ELIGIBILITY
I. "Hiyoshi Environmental Award" and"Hiyoshi Think of Ecology Award"
The award is open to resident Indian citizens and institutions registered in India only for scientists of Government office, Private research organization, research organization and for researchers of Universities in India.
1) The applicant should have minimum five years of experience in Environmental Conservation and must have done outstanding contribution in Researches, Design Development, Application of Science and Technology for the Protection and Conservation of Environment.
2) Individuals and Institutions that have received this award earlier are not eligible for consideration.
II. "Hiyoshi Young Leaf Award"
1) The award is open to resident Indian citizens and Institutions registered in India only for scientists of Government office, Private research organization, Research organization and for Researchers of Universities in India.
2) The applicant should have done outstanding contribution in Researches, Design Development, Application of Science and Technology for the Protection and Conservation of Environment.
3) The applicant should not be more than 35 years old.
4) Individuals and Institutions that have received this award earlier are not eligible for consideration.
3. SELECTION PROCESS
The awards will be announced through newspapers/scientific journals. Applications will be received from individuals/institutions in a standard format for bio-data highlighting their contribution and enclosing relevant supporting documents including three of their best publications. A duly formed selection committee will evaluate these.
4. IMPORTANT DATES
May 31: The deadline for the application
Note: Any application received after this date will be considered as application for next year.
June 15: Notification of Selection
Note: Notification will be sent only to the winners.
August: Presentation of the Awards

Hiyoshi Environmental Award 2008
Hiyoshi Environmental Award 2008 pave for great recognition to middle level environmental researchers like me in India to do good research in the field of environment. I was excited to receive the award from a reputed environmental consulting company far away from India and feel that by receiving this award I have been recognized at international level. Definitely it gives motivation and encouragement to deliver more for environmental monitoring/management not only at national level but global level in the years to come. I wish the Hiyoshi Corporation, Japan should initiate Hiyoshi Environmental conference as an annual event to discuss the environmental issues and the Environmental Awards should be awarded in the conference to encourage and kindle the environmental awareness among public.
